Girls Tennis

Girls tennis is off to a strong start! This season, the team was joined by new players Abigail Wilkinson (10) and Vy Nguyen (11). The new energy these girls bring to the team has helped them to grow together and has given them motivation to play their best. Led by Coach and World History Teacher Michael Folsom and team captain Tabitha Fleck (12), the girls on the team are as unified as ever and ready to take this season by storm!

The team has maintained their positive attitude during this season, even though the girls are no longer able to practice daily at the beautiful Sycuan courts. Practices are now held at the courts at Kennedy Park near Granite Hills High School. Despite this change, the players have remained close and bonded through this experience. Returning doubles player Shannon McMahon says “I know I can always count on my tennis family to support me and motivate me to improve my game! I feel so blessed to have teammates and a coach like them in my life!”

The team has been competing in matches throughout the past several weeks and are undefeated! The girls tennis team has emerged victoriously from competitive matches against schools like Morse and Mission Bay. Even against the team’s most difficult opponent, Crawford, Christian High girls tennis won the match with a score of 13-5 and played with incredible skill. The number one doubles duo, Carsyn Arvan (11) and Tabitha Fleck (12) have won every game and hold the impressive record of 9-0. Tabitha says “I’m so excited for my senior year of tennis with my amazing partner!” With a team full of talented players, this season of girls tennis will undoubtedly be successful!
