The wrestling team is beginning the season with a great start. Wrestling is a sport in which an individual goes one-on-one in a weaponless combat competition. Individuals earn points for successful moves played throughout the match, and either the person with the most points or first to pin their opponent wins.
The Christian High wrestling team has the wonderful direction of coach Charlie Moreno and assistant coaches Wayne Bolt and Pedro Paulino, who encourage and push members to do their best. The team will compete in many matches and tournaments throughout the season, and will go to the CIF Playoffs on February 11th, 2017.
Students are encouraged to go and support the team in their next match on Wednesday, January 4th, at Crawford High School against Crawford and Clairmont.
The wrestling team competes to the best of their abilities to glorify God. It says in Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
